Fall Is Here and So is Wedding Season

It's a toss up between which seasons get more wedding bookings. Spring and Fall run neck and neck for being the most popular of the seasons for weddings. The weather is beautiful, the colors are vibrant and the crisp warmth of the sun begs for celebration.

What could be a better way to celebrate than with food and drink?!?!

Some of my favorite fall foods have made their way into recent menus for weddings the last couple weeks. Such as...

Who can resist mustard roasted sweet potatoes with a buttermilk ranch drizzle?

Or what about...from scratch biscuits topped with pork, brown sugar glazed bacon, apple and onion slaw and topped with a honey barbecue sauce?

Sweet little mini bread bowls with hot broccoli cheese soup and freshly grated cheddar cheese...I mean really?

When planning a fall menu, look at what is in season and what will keep your guest lining up for more. Look at the things that bring comfort and conversation to a table when conceptualizing your menu. Bring celebration to your event with the types of food you choose and think out of the box to make the event your own.

Always cooking,
Luxe

Where the Wild Things Are...

I am so lucky to be a part of an amazing group of girls. We met in college (nine of us in all) and have been connected at the hip ever since. Every year we take a long weekend to get together and celebrate our friendship. This includes celebrating new chapters in our lives including marriage, career, and BABIES! This year we were so excited to learn that not one, not two, but four of our favorite ladies were expecting their very first little bundles of joy. In addition, the girls are all due to deliver the precious cargo within a month of each other. How happy we all were as we began to plan a special baby shower to honor these births! From the east coast, the west coast, and right here in Ktown, we began to plan one amazing night. We decided to go with a cocktail party feel...we wanted it outside in a garden, at dusk, and wanted everyone come dressed in a costume inspired by the classic family favorite, Where the Wild Things Are. We brought together bohemian elements to create a whimsical and fun environment. Delicious delicacies and handmade cocktails added to the atmosphere. The outgoing group of invitees came adorned with feathers, claws ,and beaks. The Mama's to be were crowned at arrival. The guests were able to visit a face painting table and offered custom made headdresses. All and all the night came together in a magical way and I am so excited to share the photos with you all!

I am blogging!

I have wanted to do this for a very long time. Recently my sweet sister started a blog and she has really been my inspiration. I have been so very lucky to be involved in the catering and event planning business. During a recent conversation with an upcoming bride, I told her that I get to work with people during the very best times of there lives and I get to help them celebrate in the happiest moments that they will ever have. I have been amazingly blessed to work with creative, awesome people who inspire me and my work. I hope that this blog can serve as a way to honor them while showcasing all the wonderful events that we are so privileged to be a part of!

I luv Luxe and I hope you will too!
